Professor Robert Miles ist ein Medium, das nicht nur mit den Toten in Kontakt treten kann, sondern auch noch den Geist seiner schwarzen Katze beherrscht. Mit ihr rächt er sich an seinen Feinden. Als Jill Trevers, eine Fotografin, die für die Polizei tätig ist, Kratzspuren von Katzenkrallen an mehreren Leichen entdeckt, besucht sie den Professor und präsentiert ihm ihren Verdacht.
